Information we may collect
Messages and correspondence
If you email, telephone or write to us, we may receive your name, contact details, the content of the message and any information you choose to include. The contact form on this website prepares an email in your own email application; it does not send the message to a separate Paw Plans form database.
Technical and security information
Our hosting and security providers may process information such as IP address, browser type, device information, requested pages, timestamps and error or security logs. This information is used to deliver the website, maintain security and investigate faults or misuse.
Analytics information
If you consent to analytics cookies, Google Analytics may collect information about how the website is used, including pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser information, referring pages and interaction events. Paw Plans uses this information in aggregated form to understand and improve the website.
Affiliate and outbound-link information
When you click an affiliate link, the destination may receive a referral identifier. A partner may later report that a qualifying action occurred, usually through aggregated or pseudonymous reporting. Paw Plans does not operate the partner’s quote form and normally does not receive the medical, financial or policy information you enter there.
Why we use personal information
- To respond to enquiries: because it is in our legitimate interests to communicate with website users and deal with corrections, requests and business enquiries.
- To operate and secure the website: because it is in our legitimate interests to deliver a reliable service, prevent misuse and diagnose technical problems.
- To use optional analytics: on the basis of your consent. You can reject or later change this choice.
- To comply with legal obligations: where records must be retained or disclosed under applicable law.
- To establish or defend legal claims: where this is necessary and proportionate.
Who we may share information with
We may use service providers for website hosting, email, security, analytics and technical support. They process information only for the relevant service and under their own contractual and legal obligations.
We may disclose information where required by law, to protect legal rights or in connection with a sale or reorganisation of the website. We do not sell contact details submitted to Paw Plans.
Third-party insurance and comparison websites
Quote buttons and affiliate links can take you to websites operated by other organisations. Those organisations are separate controllers of the information collected through their forms. Their privacy notices should explain what they collect, their lawful bases, who they share information with and how long they keep it.
Do not send quotation details, veterinary records, payment information or policy documents to Paw Plans unless we have specifically asked for information that is necessary to handle a request.
International transfers
Some technology providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, the provider should use an approved safeguard, such as UK adequacy regulations or contractual protections, where required by data-protection law.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected. Routine enquiries are normally deleted within 24 months after the matter is closed, unless a longer period is needed for legal, accounting, security or dispute-resolution purposes. Technical logs and analytics information are retained according to the settings and retention periods applied by the relevant service provider.
Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict personal information; object to certain processing; receive information in a portable format; and withdraw consent. These rights are subject to legal conditions and exemptions.
To make a request, email info@pawplans.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
Complaints
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data-protection regulator.
Children
Paw Plans is intended for adults researching insurance. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the website.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, technology or legal obligations change. The current version and update date will be published on this page.
